Handles

An area over looked and ignored far too often with the factory rods. The handle is your connection to the blank and its size and shape determine your hand and wrist mechanics. A wrongly sized handle can cause undue strain and affect the agility of your wrist.

For example I believe that with a full wells handle, your palm pad should sit comfortably against the lower slope of the handle by the reel seat and your thumb and forefinger against the upper slope near the blank. Excess cork above and below is not necessary.

I make my handles from the best cork rings I can find and shape them to my customer’s hand size and handle shape preference. If you have a handle size and shape you like, let me know and I’ll reproduce it for you.
